Effective June 29, 2026 · Version 1.0
This policy explains what information Spotsheet collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Spotsheet is operated by J. Murphy Ryan. By using the Service you agree to this policy and to our Terms of Service.
We create aggregated and de-identified data and statistics derived from use of the Service (such as cue and category statistics and non-reconstructable descriptors that do not identify any individual). Once data is de-identified it is no longer personal information, and we use and retain it to operate and improve the Service, to develop and improve our products, services, and industry standards (including cue standardization and provenance formats such as the Universal Category System), and to improve the Service’s own features. We maintain such data in de-identified form and do not attempt to re-identify it. We do not sell your personal information or your identifiable work.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, then delete or de-identify it within a reasonable period, except where longer retention is required for legal, security, or backup purposes. We may retain aggregated and de-identified data for as long as it is useful for the purposes described above.
We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the Service to function (for example, to keep you signed in). We may also use limited analytics to understand and improve usage. We do not use advertising cookies.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You may access and update your account information, request a copy or deletion of your personal information, or close your account by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and port your personal information, and to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of it. We do not sell or share personal information, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the rights described in Section 8. The categories of personal information we collect are described in Section 1 (identifiers, account and usage data, and the project metadata you create). We collect this information to provide and improve the Service as described in Section 2, and we disclose it only as described in Section 4. We have not sold or shared personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To exercise your rights, contact us at the address below; we may need to verify your identity before responding.
The Service is operated in the United States, and information is processed and stored there. If you use the Service from outside the United States, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States.
The Service is for professional use and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the “Effective” date above and, for material changes, provide notice where appropriate. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
